This historical winery dates back to far away 1352 and was bought by the Colombini family in 1790. Today it is still the Cinelli Colombini family that run Fattoria dei Barbi.
It is considered as one of the first producers of Brunello and in fact they won the first of a long list of both Italian and international prices in 1892. In 2007 their Brunello Riserva and Brunello Vigna del Fiore reached the top of the international lists of great wines.

Fattoria dei Barbi occupies a total of 370 hectares of which 90 are destined to wineproduction. This allows an annual production of 800.000 bottles. 220.000 are Brunello, 100.000 Rosso di Montalcino and 60.000 Morellino di Scansano. The rest of the production is Chianti and Tuscan IGT.
Production methods are technically innovative but with great respect of the traditions of this historical producer. In fact a visit to the cellars give the possibility to see bottles from 1892 together with the barrels containing tomorrows Brunello.

In Fattoria dei Barbi is also situated the Museum of Brunello to enlarge the knowledge of these prestigious wines.
