Since the start for over 40 years ago Lungarotti has been one of the most important exponent of the development of the Torgiano wine area. The philosophy has always been to combine wine with art and history, giving birth to the interesting museums of wine and olive oil.
Today the company is still run by the female side of the Lungarotti family and has become one of the biggest and most appreciated producers, not only of Torgiano Rosso Riserva, but of a wide range of Umbrian wines.
The keyword is research. Both in the fields, the production and in the impact on the environment in collaboration with the University of Perugia new methods are being tested and used to improve all details.
To assure the quality Lungarotti use only their own grapes having 260 hectares + 40 in rent in the Torgiano area and furthermore 20 hectares in Montefalco allowing the production of the Sagrantino di Montefalco. The main grapes are those of Umbrian origin, but even Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay are being used.
The annual production is getting close to 3.000.000 bottles.

Additional information: Main products: Torgiano Rosso Riserva, Sagrantino di Montefalco, Umbria IGT, Torgiano Rosso, Montefalco Rosso, wide selection of younger wines. Grappa and olive oil.
